Food

Bread is cheap but takes a morning to bake... (I once had to make bread every saturday to have something to eat for the rest of the week)
I like the fruit idea... but apples have to be an extremely low priority when we buy foods... as I can almost never eat them... unless I want my mouth and lips to go numb and my asthma to approach a danger zone.

Maybe we should setup a joint house account or something where we each put in 100$ for food money each month. This would be aside from feast money which we'd split on spot or we could include that and just plan on two feasts a month and have a limit of a hundred for each and then each put $200 in.

What do you know about Benedictines? (well I'm going to tell you more ;-p )
There two charisms are: hospitality (the most ancient of the two) and liturgy.

I like the idea of living simply but hospitably, inviting people who would otherwise never have a chance for a feast to join us... and setting prayer times in our house, where we stop everything and go pray. (and invite but not force our guests to join us). With the simply, the food thing comes in also... we eat basic foods except for feasts... actually trying to survive off of 200$ between the two of us (which should be more than enough...)

what do you think?

Also, if I can find it, I have a prolific spice cabinet... ;-)

As for the Job... I'm going to consider working with the CFRs as my main job and I'm going to try to devote alot to it... after that fits in, I might get a part time job... though I doubt it.

Ramifications!??? lol...

Brother, we've not just dreamed the dream, we've answered the call! and now we're walking to the light!

what do ya think?

Food Rules

I thought of something really important today, but of course I did not write it down so I forgot...but for now I think we should always have fruit in the apartment, a fruit bowl of sorts. Also I like the idea of cooking our bread and all that, we should figure out a routine to get it all done for a week...we'll talk over what we'll buy and what we'll make ourselves. In regard to furniture I have a couple of contacts out there that are getting more prolific as I talk to different people so along with your contacts we won't be in need. Not much else springs to mind right now. We will have people over for dinner from time to time. Daily prayer and mass (hopefully at a different church each day!!) . We will acquire all sorts of spices, anything we can encounter and try out once or many times. I am strongly considering getting a job while there, though much depends on my finances, so we'll chat about that soon. I have seriously begun to consider the ramifications of this whole thing lately and I cannot wait!!!

We have dreamed the dream, now we are living it!
